Before Zenly
Nuad Thai Spa Kathmandu grew from a single location to four branches the way most service businesses do – one good year at a time, with the booking system never catching up. Appointments were confirmed over the phone, tracked on a branch-by-branch basis, and reconciled against the till at the end of the day. It worked when there was one branch to watch. It stopped working at three.
The owner’s mornings were spent calling each branch manager individually to find out who was booked, who had shown up, and what had been collected the day before. Discounts were verbal, so a therapist could offer 15% off without anyone above them knowing until the numbers didn’t add up. Staff moved between branches informally, which meant a manager could find out a therapist wasn’t coming in only when the client was already in the waiting room.
What changed
Zenly replaced the phone-and-spreadsheet system with a single operational layer across all four branches. Every booking now moves through the same lifecycle – Pending, Confirmed, In-Progress, Completed – visible in real time to whoever needs to see it, at whatever level they’re allowed to see it at.
Booking & scheduling
Front-desk staff create bookings directly against a specific therapist and room. Conflicts are prevented at the database level, not caught after the fact by a manager comparing notebooks.
Discount control
A therapist can still offer a discount – but it’s a request, not a decision. It only applies once a manager approves it, and every request carries the exact percentage and amount. The spa’s pricing strategy now survives contact with the front desk.
Staff transfers
When a therapist moves between branches, it’s a scheduled event with an effective date – not a phone call the morning of. Managers at both branches see the change coming.
Daily reconciliation
Every payment is logged at the point of service, against the booking it belongs to. The owner’s morning call round has been replaced by a single dashboard that’s already correct.
“I used to spend my mornings calling every branch. Now I open the platform and everything is already there.”
The result
Across the four branches, Nuad Thai Spa now runs roughly 350 bookings and 170 recorded payments a week through Zenly, with every discount request and staff transfer carrying its own audit trail. Nothing about the business got simpler – four branches, 39 therapists, and 194 services is still a lot to run. What changed is that the owner sees it as one operation instead of four separate ones held together by phone calls.
